Welcome (back) to Matt's Celebrity Hangout! :-)
Well, it has certainly been a while since the site was last online and available. Many apologies to those of you who have been wondering where on Earth the site went when it "mysteriously" disappeared in 2007! Due to a lack of time and funding, and many other contributing factors (which include me having moved house twice) I'm afraid I simply have not had the time to maintain what was once (and hopefully still can be again) one of the UK's most popular collecting resources.
Anyway, for those of you who have never visited the site before Matt's Celebrity Hangout is dedicated to the exciting hobby of celebrity autograph collecting. I have been collecting since the Summer of 1993 and, in the eighteen years which have come and gone, my collection amassed at one point almost 4500 signed items.
Among the stars in my collection are some very popular names. From footballers such as David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Pele, Diego Maradona and George Best to stars of stage and screen including Sir Alec Guinness, Sir Sean Connery, Dame Maggie Smith and Dame Judi Dench, my collection has grown steadily over the years mostly with "through the mail" collecting - however, I have been very fortunate to actually meet a few celebrities too along the way.
When I first put the site up way back in 1997 its main aim and purpose was to 'show off' to the rest of the World my collection as it grew, however, the newly revamped site focuses mostly on helping other collectors, both experienced and novice, achieve success in the same hobby they also 'crave'. I will, of course, still be displaying a very small selection of my collection. Having sold a large proportion of my autographs over the past couple of years (moving house is so expensive!!), the remainder of my signed items are split between my home in Scotland and my parents' home in Wales so it may be some time before I am able to get many of these autographs scanned and uploaded to the site. However, I will shortly be adding a few that have 'moved' with me to Scotland. Please do check back often as I intend to add more as and when I get some free time.
Thank you for returning to the site, and for your patience while I gradually update the resource. I hope you will eventually find it just as useful and informative as it was back in the day!
